Skål Month has started, Montreal club taking part in celebrations

MONTREAL — Skål Month 2021 is up and running, with national committees and international clubs showcasing their destinations throughout April via online platforms.

Featuring the hashtag #DoingBusinessAmongFriends, the month-long celebrations allow members to meet with fellow Skålleagues online, learn about destinations, ask questions online and build new connections.

Among the 25 clubs showcasing their city and attractions is Skål International Montreal, the first Skål Club in Canada, founded in 1949. Club member Felycia Carignan has arranged to highlight La Grande Roue de Montréal, which will be presented by Alain Brochu, director of marketing, sales and communications.

In addition, the Quebec City Club will be hosting the Skål World Congress on Dec. 9-13, 2021. Members can view this event’s presentation online on April 21.

“While the pandemic has put a hold on many of our activities, we are already planning to welcome owners, general managers and directors of travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, airlines, tourist boards and all other categories of tourism and travel,” said Christine Killinger, president of Skål International Montreal.

Skål International has been connecting travel and tourism professionals in over 101 countries since 1934. Today, it comprises 333 clubs with over 12,000 members.
