Ultimate escapes for upscale travel: We check out Air Canada Jetz

TORONTO — The ACV Jetz experience offers luxury from start to finish, as Travelweek found out yesterday with a live event at a private hangar by Toronto Pearson Airport.

Hosted by Air Canada’s Director Global Accounts, Tracey Bellamy, and ACV’s General Manager of Sales Ontario and National Accounts, Erminia Nigro, the open house-style event allowed trade and media to explore the new Jetz Experience, launched last week for the 2020-2021 winter season.

With health and safety measures taking top priority with travellers, ACV Jetz could be just what clients are looking for. The product offering came together after much planning and discussion, all with an eye to giving travellers – and their travel agents – as many options as possible for winter getaways in these challenging times.

“We spent the past 6 to 7 months coming up with a unique offering and meeting certain security measures where consumers can travel comfortably amid the rise in luxury travel,” said Nigro. “We invested so much energy for a small window of travel.  I think it’s going to open up a whole can of worms for people to want to start travelling this way.”

ACV Jetz will be available for the following departures:

 TORONTO – CANCUN

Departing Dec. 20 and 27 on AC1232; returning   Dec. 27 and Jan. 3 on AC1233

 TORONTO – BARBADOS

 MONTREAL – BARBADOS

Passengers can also take advantage of a speedy boarding process that begins 35 minutes prior to departure. Passengers also get two complimentary checked-in bags.

Onboard the Jetz aircraft, there are just 58 seats, all business class, with Chef Antonio Park-prepared meals, complimentary WiFi throughout and iPads. Jetz seats have a 42-49” seat pitch and there is one full row featuring four seats facing each other complete with tables inbetween, perfect for family and friends.  All seats also come with COVID-protected bedding for the comfort of evening flights.

For group travel, clients can charter an Air Canada Jetz plane to create a personalized high-end vacation package perfect for weddings, family reunions or corporate conferences.

Three Air Canada Jetz Airbus A319 aircraft are already geared up to serve sun routes this winter, with another currently under refurbishment.

In destination, ACV Jetz passengers get private and safe return transfers to and from their hotel via luxury vehicle along with a welcome beverage and cold towel.

An exclusive selection of ACV hotels and resorts will carry the luxury experience throughout the stay with added values such as room upgrades, complimentary services (massage, photo session) along with exclusive discounts to spas and boutiques.

“We’re really excited to have a very comfortable business class with luxury from start to finish,” says Nigro. “Once you arrive at the airport you have access to the Maple Leaf Lounge and we’ve partnered with about 30 hotel partners on the ACV side who have committed to going above and beyond with extras and added values. We’re even offering private transfers with luxury cars encompassing the entire luxury experience.”

Agents looking for more details – including pricing – should call ACV Jetz’s dedicated phone number at 1-866-529-2079.

“The price point is really good. People will assume that this option is extremely expensive but, in fact, it is extremely affordable.”

Clients who choose Air Canada Jetz are in good company: the carrier serves all seven Canadian teams in the NHL. Nigro says more flights with Jetz could be coming, but it depends on the NHL schedule for the coming winter. “We would love to see this expand, the interest has been really great, however the NHL schedule will determine further availability,” she said.
