Iberostar, Spice Island Grenada, Holiday Inn Montego Bay announce temporary closures

TORONTO — Three more hotel companies have announced temporary closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

HOLIDAY INN RESORT MONTEGO BAY

Due to the fact that primary source markets for the Caribbean have closed their borders, and that flights into Jamaica have come to a halt, The Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay will close on a temporary bases effective March 27, until May 31, 2020.

According to Managing Director Kevin Hendrickson, the resort intends to resume operations on June 1, “however, as circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on global airlift remain beyond our control, we reserve the option to adjust our plans.”

In his official statement, Hendrickson also made sure to thank guests for their support over the past 49 years.

“As an IHG hotel, we pride ourselves on providing ‘True Hospitality for everyone’, a promise that guides us every day and is fundamental during times like these,” he said.
