Sunwing invests further in QC with new-build headquarters in Laval

LAVAL — Construction is underway on Sunwing’s new $12 million Quebec office in Laval.

Sunwing says the move to Laval will enable the company to continue to grow and consolidate its operations throughout the province.

The brand-new three-storey building is in the town centre, at the corner of Autoroute 15 and Du Souvenir Boulevard.

The several hundred employees currently based at the Côte de Liesse office in Montreal will begin working at the new location in Laval in summer 2020, says Sunwing, adding that the new digs will be modern and eco-friendly.

In addition to the administration, customer service, sales, group sales, finance and marketing departments, the office will also be used by the company’s airline division to train flight personnel.

The new space available in the new office will allow Sunwing to grow their Quebec call centre operations. Taking advantage of their bilingual staff, the centre will be able to take even more calls – even from out of province or even the United States.

Sam Char, Executive Vice President of Sunwing Travel Group, was joined at the ground-breaking ceremony by Mayor of Laval, Marc Demers; Sunwing Travel Group President and Founder, Colin Hunter; Groupe Montoni President, Dario Montoni and a number of industry figures.

“This is a major change for Sunwing, and we are confident it will lead to more innovation and collaboration between teams in order to support the brand’s growth in the country,” said Char. “With this new investment, Sunwing is proud to be playing an important part in supporting the economic development of Laval and helping revitalize the downtown area.”

Mayor of Laval Marc Demers said: “We are very pleased to welcome the new Sunwing headquarters to Laval. Our administration has been working hard to promote Laval’s vitality, innovation and identity by building an attractive, friendly and multifunctional city centre. This new player aligns perfectly with the kind of mixed-use development that we are seeking and that makes Laval a great place to live, study and have fun. I wish Sunwing the warmest of welcomes to our city!”

Sunwing has been in the Quebec market for close to 14 years and says its new headquarters will strengthen its position even further.

Sunwing is also the only leisure airline in Quebec to offer direct flights to vacation destinations from five airports throughout the province.

Since winter 2006, in addition to the many flights Sunwing offers from Montréal and Québec City, Quebecers can fly south from Saguenay, with four flights per week, Val d’Or in Abitibi Témiscamingue, with two weekly flights, and Côte Nord together with weekly flights services offered from Mont Joli in the lower St. Lawrence region.

Meanwhile Sunwing’s Holiday Escapes Sale runs this week, offering up to $1,000 per couple off vacation packages this holiday season.
Running through Nov. 22, the sale includes discounts to various top-rated resorts over Christmas and New Year’s, including the family-friendly Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa in Punta Cana, where festivities include carolling sing-alongs, a visit from Santa and holiday ornament decorating.
