Sales open soon for new Silver Origin, set to debut July 2020

MONACO — Travellers will soon be able to reserve their seats for Silver Origin, a ship designed entirely with the Galapagos Islands in mind.

The all-suite Silver Origin will embark on its maiden voyage in July 2020 and will accommodate 100 guests on two alternating seven-night itineraries between Baltra and San Cristobal. Bookings open on July 16, 2019.

Roberto Martinoli, Silversea’s President and CEO says, “From July 16, 2019, we will open sales for Silver Origin, which will enrich guests’ experiences with an unprecedented level of elegance and comfort. After admiring endemic species in the wild and exploring the beautiful landscapes of the Galapagos – with the guidance of local experts – guests will continue their discovery of this unique destination on board, through regionally inspired cuisine, informative lectures and various other enhancements.”

Baltra to San Cristobal

While on a circumnavigation of Isla Daphne Major, guests will visit Genovesa, San Cristobal, Espanola, Santa Cruz and South Plaza. Highlights on this seven-day itinerary include spotting wildlife in their natural habitats, snorkelling opportunities, and exploring lava flows at Sullivan Bay.

San Cristobal to Baltra

Silversea’s western itinerary includes Cerro Dragon and Las Bachas Beach in Santa Cruz, and a circumnavigation of Kicker Rock. Other highlights include: Punta Vicentre Roca, Ragus Cove and Elizabeth Bay in Isabela; Post Office Bay, Champion Islet and Punta Cormorant in Floreana; Los Gemelos and Charles Darwin Research Station in Santa Cruz; Playa Espumilla in Santiago (conditions permitting); Punta Espinoza in Fernandina; and Bartolome Island.

Both itineraries will take guests on complimentary excursions through Darwin’s ‘Living Laboratory of Evolution’, led by expert local naturalists. Guests may spot giant tortoises, marine iguanas, Galapagos Hawks and Galapagos Penguins, among other animals while being educated by those leading them.

Two special extended voyages are planned for the 2020 holiday season. These include an 11-day voyage from San Cristobal to Baltra departing Dec. 19, 2020 and a 12-day new Year’s Cruise departing from Baltra on Dec 29, 2020, concluding in San Cristobal.

Suite Categories

Silver Origin features eight suite categories including one Owner’s Suite on Deck 6 that wraps around the ship’s rear section. Directly below this on Deck 5 are the ship’s one Grand Suite and one Royal Suite, which may be combined into one suite ideal for family travel. Two Silver Suites on Deck 5 can be connected to an adjacent Classic Veranda Suite to accommodate groups.

Plus, a first for Silversea, the Owner’s, Grand and Royal suites offer an oceanview whirlpool bath and separate shower, accessible from the veranda (except in the Grand Suite).

Deluxe Veranda Suite

The remaining four suite categories include one Medallion Suite, seven Deluxe Veranda suites, and 16 Superior Veranda suites, all of which are notable for their Horizon Balcony, which converts into an indoor living space with a floor-to-ceiling window. There are also 22 Classic Veranda Suites featuring floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that open onto the veranda.
