Ring in 2018 in New Zealand with Contiki’s new ‘Rhythm & Alps’

TORONTO — Contiki’s new 2017-18 South Pacific program includes the new seven-day ‘Rhythm & Alps’, with New Year’s Eve in New Zealand.

Clients who book and pay in full by April 11, 2017 can save 7.5% as part of the brand’s Early Payment Discount. In addition, clients who book trips to both Australia and New Zealand at the same time will receive an additional 5% off.

“The South Pacific region is one of the most popular destinations for young Canadians, given its year-round tropical weather,” says Sheralyn Berry, Director of Sales for Contiki Canada. “We’re excited to introduce our most robust Australia and New Zealand product yet, and delighted to offer clients an opportunity to explore both countries at the same time with this new booking promotion.”

Contiki’s ‘Rhythm & Alps’ is a festival trip operating during the New Year’s Eve festival with a limited one-time departure on Dec. 28, 2017, with guests staying three nights in lodges and three nights glamping in luxury camping accommodation. Travellers get a two-day festival pass for New Zealand’s New Year’s celebrations, VIP admission and treatment, access to the VIP bar and lounge, and a special showcase performance from one of the festival’s musical stars.

The opportunity to bungee jump at the world’s first commercial bungee on New Year’s Day is available for those adrenaline junkies who want to start 2018 in style.

Some of Contiki’s other New Zealand trips have been amended for 2017 and they include The Big Tiki, Kiwiana Panorama, Sun & Steam, Northern Choice and Jaffas ‘n’ Jandals. The itineraries have changed in the North Island to remove Waitomo as a destination, instead adding in a new destination, Mount Ruapehu, and a new overnight Special Stay at the Kings Hotel. The itineraries will now differ for summer and winter departures and will now offer a ski option in the wintertime.

The enchanting Hobbiton Village from Lord of the Rings is also part of the route. There are also changes to the product in Paihia that will now include a visit to the Treaty of Waitangi grounds for a guided tour with a local guide, in addition to gaining access to the recently built Treaty Museum.

Adjustments to Contiki’s Australia trips include the Big Walkabout, City to Surf, Beaches & Reefs, Reefs & Rainforest and Sunsets & Surf. These changes now allow for almost another full day in Byron Bay, which ranked number four on Contiki’s ‘The No Regrets List’ as the top bucket list experience for 2017 among young Canadians.
