LONDON, ENGLAND – Is it just us or do the tigers at London Zoo look a little cheekier than usual?

According to Metro UK, hundreds of people wearing nothing but tiger body paint and running shoes were spotted having a leisurely jog around London Zoo earlier this week.

Many were painted head to toe in orange and black stripes, some sported fuzzy tiger ears while others opted to forego all decoration and ran completely in the buck.

But before you order your season pass in hopes of catching sight of them, these strange and agile creatures are long gone.

Turns out, the naked runners emerged after the zoo’s doors had closed for the day, between 7pm and 9pm, to raise awareness for tiger conservation.

The annual event, ‘Streak for Tigers’, is held each year to raise funds for the Zoological Society of London’s work protecting the beasts.

Said James Wren, fundraising director at the ZSL London Zoo, “Money raised by those who dared to bare is vital in helping us continue our work for tigers around the world, and it’s definitely something to tick off the bucket list.”

So if you’ve missed this year’s migration, be sure to save the date next year when a new crop of naked tigers come out to play.
