[People] Flight Centre Canada appoints Friend and Jupp EVPs

Flight Centre has appointed Mike Friend EVP of Leisure Operations for the Americas and Emma Jupp EVP of Product for the Americas effective Jan. 1. Mike Friend is currently the Product Nation leader in Canada. He has enjoyed a very successful career with Flight Centre, joining the company as a consultant in Melbourne in 1996. Highlights of his career have included leading the FCTG businesses of Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory (WASANT) to many years of record-breaking results, and as managing director of Flight Centre New Zealand achieving the best-ever profits in the history of the business in that country. Emma Jupp will be the new EVP of Product for the Americas. Jupp began her career with Flight Centre in Vancouver almost 20 years ago, she has been Product Nation leader in both Canada and the U.S. and was the managing director of Backroad Touring Company in the UK. Jupp will be based in the company’s Ramsey, NJ headquarters until June 2016, and will then return home to Toronto. For the past several years she has been the president of U.S. retail brand, Liberty Travel.
