MONTEGO BAY — Two renovated resorts are preparing to welcome guests back to Jamaica as the island continues to restore its hotel inventory ahead of the busy winter travel season.
JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar, the adults-only all-inclusive resort along Montego Bay’s Rose Hall Corridor, will reopen Dec. 1 following a full renovation. The property’s 295 suites, arrival areas, pools, beachfront spaces and dining venues have been redesigned, with the refreshed experience highlighting Jamaican culture and hospitality.
The resort will feature nine dining venues, including five specialty restaurants, and four bars. Its culinary offering includes Jamaican and Caribbean flavours, French brasserie dining, premium grilled specialties and Southeast Asian cuisine. Guests can also enjoy four swimming pools, water sports, a spa, fitness facilities and nightly entertainment featuring local artists.
Also reopening Dec. 1 is Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica in Runaway Bay, following a year-long renovation of its rooms, common areas, dining and entertainment facilities. To mark the reopening, the brand is offering exclusive discounts of up to 50%.
The family-oriented all-inclusive resort will offer 647 rooms, three pools and seven restaurants, including a steakhouse and international dining options. Activities include a waterpark, Kids Club, live music, beach parties, dance classes and “Xaymaca The Show,” a production celebrating Jamaica’s history and rhythms. Guests will also have access to à la carte restaurants at the adults-only Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay.
The reopening forms part of Bahia Principe’s brand evolution, with its Explore sub-brand geared toward families and groups, while Escape caters to adults seeking a more relaxed stay. Bahia Principe is managed through a joint venture between Hyatt and Piñero, with the resorts integrated into Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection.

MORE ROOMS RETURNING FOR WINTER
The two reopenings are part of Jamaica’s broader recovery, with more than 75% of the island’s room inventory currently operational and 90% projected to be available by Dec. 1. Additional properties are scheduled to reopen through the remainder of 2026 and into early 2027.
Jamaica welcomed more than two million visitors and earned US$2.5 billion between January and August 2026.
