TORONTO — G Adventures is inviting Canadian travel advisors to turn client bookings into a chance to experience the impact of community tourism firsthand.
The company has announced the return of its Change Makers reward program, with 15 top-performing Canadian advisors set to earn a place at the fifth annual global GX Summit in Brazil in September 2027. The winners will join more than 75 standout advisors from around the world to celebrate the transformative power of community tourism.
HOW IT WORKS
Change Makers rewards advisors for booking G Adventures trips, giving them a closer look at how their business supports local host communities and sustainable tourism development.
The qualification period is now open and runs through May 31, 2027. Advisors earn one automatic entry for every traveller booked on a G Adventures itinerary during the qualification window, with each entry representing “one life changed.”
The incentive includes 12 places for the top Canadian advisors based on total passenger count, along with three wildcard spots. To qualify for a wildcard, advisors must commit to changing at least one life and complete designated monthly challenges. These include specialized G-learning training modules, fundraising initiatives for G Adventures’ non-profit partner Planeterra and incentive boosts for first-time bookers.
The program complements G Adventures’ existing advisor support initiatives, including the G-Normous incentive, global FAM opportunities and the Travel Your Heart Out roadshow, which travels coast to coast.
2027 GX SUMMIT
The upcoming GX Summit in Brazil builds on the success of the recent event in Cambodia, where 75 global Change Makers joined more than 600 travellers, media and industry partners.
Attendees visited Angkor Wat and the floating villages of Tonlé Sap, while experiencing community tourism through Planeterra-supported social enterprises, including Spoons restaurant and the Lady Tuk Tuk Drivers association. The event culminated in a celebration at Bayon Temple, illuminated in G Adventures’ signature purple.
The 2027 Summit will offer advisors another opportunity to explore South American culture and see how Planeterra-backed social enterprise projects help foster long-term local resilience.
David Green, Managing Director for G Adventures in Canada, highlighted the importance of the program and the company’s commitment to its travel advisor partners.
“Change Makers is hands-down one of my favorite initiatives of the year because it puts our incredible travel advisor community right where they belong, at the center of our mission,” says Green. “There’s nothing quite like watching our agents experience the real-world impact of their bookings firsthand at GX. The energy in Cambodia was completely off the charts, and I can’t wait to see that same passion in Brazil.”
Advisors can contact their regional Global Purpose Specialist (GPS) or visit the Change Makers website to learn more about the program and track their entries.
