WestJet leads North America in on-time performance through September

CALGARY — WestJet has ranked first in North America for on-time performance for the fifth consecutive month, according to Cirium’s latest report.

The airline operated approximately 17,390 flights during September, with 85.31% arriving on time and a result nearly three percentage points ahead of the next-highest-ranked carrier.

“This achievement would not be possible without the incredible dedication of WestJetters across our network, from flight crews and maintenance teams to airport, network, customer service and operations teams,” said Diederik Pen, President, WestJet Airlines & Chief Operating Officer, WestJet Group.

“Maintaining this performance for five consecutive months, particularly through the peak summer travel season, is a testament to the care, teamwork and operational excellence our people bring to work every day.”

Pen said the airline is focused on building on that progress as it heads into the busy winter season.

“Our guests count on us to get them where they need to go safely and reliably, and while we know there is always more to do and head into our busy winter season, we are proud of the progress we are making to deliver an even more dependable travel experience,” he said.
