Royal Scenic CAS Philippines fam returns after seeing typhoon aftermath

Royal Scenic CAS Philippines fam returns after seeing typhoon aftermathMANILA — Royal Scenic’s Certified Asia Specialist fam recently returned home from the Philippines after having witnessed the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.

With months in advance planning and after consultation with weather and tourism authorities and receiving safety reassurances, the group of Certified Asia Specialist agents proceeded as scheduled and arrived the weekend after the typhoon passed over the Philippine archipelago.

This fam trip was conducted in association with Shangri-La Hotels and the Philippines Department of Tourism and visited Manila and Cebu.

The trip was a great success, said Royal Scenic, and the group visited several of the major tourist attractions in both cities, including Intramuros, Rizal Park and Fort Santiago in Manila, and Fort San Pedro and Santo Nino Church in Cebu. The agents also experienced luxurious accommodations at three Shangri-La properties.

In Cebu, the group made a collective donation to local relief organizations to show their appreciation of the local hosts by helping out those in need. The trip showcased the uniqueness of each destination and educated them about the culture and warm hospitality of the Filipino people.

While the typhoon did hit parts of the country, Manila did not suffer any serious damage from the typhoon. In both cities, all of the main tourist attractions and facilities are fully operational.

“The Philippines remains a safe and fun destination and looks forward to welcoming tourists from all over the world on their next vacation,” said Royal Scenic.

The Certified Asia Specialist program is a CITC approved non-profit self-study travel agent destination program administered by Royal Scenic that jointly promotes Asia with the participating tourism boards, airlines and hotel suppliers.
