G Adventures resumes Jordan tours after three-month pause

TORONTO — G Adventures is resuming operations in Jordan next month following a three-month pause prompted by conflict in the Middle East and elevated travel advisories.

The small-group adventure tour operator confirmed that departures will resume on Aug. 1 after Canada relaxed its travel advisory for Jordan last week from Orange Level 3 (avoid all non-essential travel) to Yellow Level 2 (exercise a high degree of caution).

The restart comes after G Adventures temporarily suspended Jordan departures earlier this year, citing persistent flight disruptions and higher travel advisories that affected travellers’ ability to obtain insurance coverage. At the time, the company emphasized that conditions on the ground remained calm and that traveller safety would continue to guide its decisions.

“We’ve always been quick to return to destinations as soon as it is safe to do so, because we’ve seen time and again the vital role tourism plays in supporting local communities and livelihoods,” said Michelle Hudema, Chief Operating Officer for G Adventures.

“Jordan holds a special place for us. Following our GX Summit in September 2025, we welcomed new communities and local partners into our tours and supply chain, and we’re eager to resume operations and continue creating opportunities through the power of sustainable travel.”

SUMMER & AUTUMN IN JORDAN

Hudema added that the timing offers travellers an ideal opportunity to experience the destination.

“For travellers, there’s never been a better time to experience this extraordinary destination. Late summer and autumn are fantastic seasons to visit, whether you’re looking to hike sections of the ancient Jordan Trail or join one of our adventures designed exclusively for solo travellers.”

FULL CONFIDENCE IN RETURN

G Adventures has continued operating tours in Egypt since late March and said it has confidence in its return to Jordan.

The company also noted that tourism plays a critical role in supporting local communities and livelihoods, making a swift return to destinations an important part of its approach whenever conditions safely allow.

Jordan has become an increasingly significant destination for G Adventures following its GX Summit in September 2025, when more than 700 travel advisors, suppliers, travellers and media gathered in the country to showcase the impact of community tourism.

According to the company, the event contributed to a 186% increase in traveller numbers in the months that followed and helped expand the number of community tourism experiences included in its Jordan itineraries from two to eight.
