MONTREAL — Air Transat has officially launched its new nonstop service between Montreal and Agadir, expanding its Morocco network and becoming the only airline to offer direct flights to the coastal destination from North America.
The inaugural flight, TS492, departed on June 12, marking the start of a new seasonal route that will operate once weekly on Fridays through Oct. 23, 2026.
Agadir becomes Air Transat’s second destination in Morocco from Montreal, complementing the carrier’s existing service to Marrakech and further strengthening its presence in Africa.
“The launch of this route to Agadir reflects our ambition to strengthen exclusive access to Morocco and expand our presence across the African continent,” said Sébastien Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “It responds to strong and growing demand while supporting both tourism development and closer ties between communities in Canada and Morocco.”
The Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO) also praised the launch, noting growing interest among Canadians in visiting the destination.
“The MNTO, in collaboration with Air Transat, is delighted to offer Canadians enhanced and more consistent connectivity to Agadir,” said Siham Fettouhi, Executive Director for North America, for the MNTO. “As the distance between Canada and Morocco continues to shrink, both geographically and culturally, we are pleased to celebrate the experiences and destinations that make every trip to Morocco so unique for Canadian travellers. We are also honoured to see that Canadians are increasingly choosing to discover Morocco, and we view this new route as a natural continuation of the strong and growing connectivity between our two countries.”
Flights are operated with the Airbus A321LR, which features Economy Class and Club Class cabins. The aircraft is designed for longer-range routes and offers passengers ergonomic seating and an advanced in-flight entertainment system.
