According to ACTA, the CTC and CTM designations are recognized benchmarks of achievement within Canada’s travel industry, demonstrating advanced knowledge, leadership and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Benefits of earning a CTC or CTM designation include enhanced industry credibility and professional recognition, increased confidence in serving clients and managing complex travel needs, access to advanced knowledge and leadership development, and opportunities for career growth, promotions and expanded professional networks.
Certification has delivered tangible results for many advisors, according to Mike Allard, CTC.
“Shortly after achieving my CTC designation, my business started to take off and I began achieving year-over-year double-digit growth,” said Mike Allard, CTC. “For any travel advisor serious about their business, the CTC program demonstrates a commitment to professionalism, ongoing training, and excellence.”
OTHER PATHWAYS TO CERTIFICATION
In addition to its traditional certification programs, ACTA offers an Equivalency Conversion Program that allows experienced travel professionals to obtain a CTC or CTM designation based on their industry experience and qualifications. More information is available through the Education section of ACTA’s website.
ACTA also announced that it is developing a new certification pathway for travel professionals with more than 10 years of industry experience. Additional details are expected in the coming weeks.
NEW CTC AND CTM PINS
New for 2026, ACTA will be issuing CTC and CTM recognition pins to certified professionals across Canada. The pins, which will be mailed to current designation holders in the coming weeks, are intended to recognize their commitment to professional development and industry excellence.
Recipients are encouraged to showcase their achievement by sharing a photo with their new pin and tagging @ACTACanada_ on social media.
