MONTREAL — Following cues from Lufthansa Group and Air Canada, now Air Transat and Air France have announced that they have sufficient fuel supplies for the summer season.
“Air Transat has the fuel supply necessary to operate its entire summer schedule,” the airline said in a communication that is being sent to its customers today, according to La Presse.
Meanwhile according to L’Écho touristique Air France, KLM and Transavia will transport all their customers this summer: “Air France and KLM do not anticipate any disruptions to fuel supplies this summer and will maintain their originally planned flight schedules.”
L’Écho touristique also noted that this assessment is shared by the European Commission, which stated on Sunday that the European Union has experienced “no disruption in supply at the consumer level,” although prices have risen.
“This is the busiest period of the year, and the industry wants to reassure the public by clearly indicating that their travel plans will not be canceled,” said AirTrav’s Robert Kokonis, as quoted by La Presse. “It is important to build confidence in the industry.”
