Air Canada’s latest int’l, transborder trims amid global jet fuel supply crisis

MONTREAL — Air Canada is trimming frequencies on select international routes as well as a number of U.S. routes.

An update from Aeroroutes shows Air Canada is making the following changes to its intercontinental network …

  • Montreal-Berlin: Seasonal service cut short, now ending Sept. 5
  • Montreal-Copenhagen: Seasonal service cut short, now ending Sept. 3
  • Toronto Pearson-Manchester: Reduced from 4x to 3x weekly, June 15 – Sept. 12
  • Vancouver-Hong Kong: Reduced from 7x to 6x weekly, Sept. 8 – Oct. 2
  • Vancouver-Manila: Reduced from 4x to 3x weekly, July 20 – Oct. 1
  • Vancouver-Singapore: Reduced from 4x to 3x weekly July 3-16 and Aug. 24-Sept. 25

Air Canada is also make slight frequency cuts on some 20 transborder routes.

Air Canada’s previous transborder adjustments amid the ongoing jet fuel supply situation include route cuts for Toronto-Sacramento (ends Aug. 1), Toronto-Charleston (ends Sept. 6), Vancouver-Raleigh (ends July 29) and Montreal-Austin (ends Sept. 7). Air Canada has also suspended flights from Toronto and Montreal to New York’s JFK International airport between early June and late October.
