MONTREAL — Air Transat is expanding its winter 2026-2027 network with the addition of new service to the Canary Islands and a new route from Quebec City to Panama.
The airline will launch weekly flights to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (LPA) from both Montreal and Toronto beginning Dec. 12, 2026, through April 4, 2027. Saturday departures will operate from Montreal while Sunday departures will operate from Toronto.
The new service adds another Spanish destination to Air Transat’s growing European network and further strengthens its presence in the Iberian market.
“Las Palmas offers the best of both worlds: the sunshine and mild climate of the Canary Islands combined with Europe’s charm and cultural richness,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “With ideal year-round weather, spectacular beaches, and a thriving culinary scene, it’s a destination that perfectly meets the expectations of travellers seeking something new.”
Air Transat currently operates year-round service to Madrid and Málaga and recently expanded its Barcelona flights into a year-round operation. Valencia, which was previously extended into the winter season, has now also been fully annualized and will continue operating through winter with one weekly Friday flight.
In addition to expanding in Europe, the carrier is also increasing its presence in Quebec City with the launch of a new route to Rio Hato (RIH), Panama.
The weekly Sunday service from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport will operate from Dec. 20, 2026, through April 25, 2027.
Flights are now open for booking as the carrier continues rolling out its broader Winter 2026-2027 program. Additional announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
