More than 150 chefs, 250 venues with Taste Hong Kong, new for HKTB

TORONTO — The Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Chinese New Year celebration got a strong turnout at the brand new SixtyEight event venue high atop Scotia Plaza in downtown Toronto.

Travel industry professionals mingled with reps from the HKTB along with the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association (HKCBA), dignitaries and more for a night of dragon dances and Hong Kong delicacies, all to usher in the Year of the Horse.

Jorge Lee, Sr. Manager, Marketing and PR for the HKTB, said more than 363,000 Canadians visited Hong Kong in 2025. That’s up 13% year over year.

“There’s great momentum” for inbound tourism to Hong Kong, said Lee.

As any return visitor to the Asian gateway knows, there’s also no bad time to come to Hong Kong. Lee listed just a few of the highlights on the city’s event calendar, from multi-day Lunar New Year celebrations (this year running Feb. 17-19), to the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, the Cheung Chau Bun Festival and many more.

A foodie’s paradise, Hong Kong is also a big draw every autumn for the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival.

Brand new for the city, Taste Hong Kong invited more than 150 master chefs to highlight over 250 of the city’s superb restaurants. Taste Hong Kong’s insider guides, videos and more help visitors make the most of dining in the city.
