Hola Sun has repatriation and refund info as it too suspends Cuba operations

TORONTO — Cuba specialist Hola Sun Holidays has announced that it too will suspend operations to Cuba for the rest of the winter season.

Selling just Cuba and Cuba only, Hola Sun was the one major holdout in recent days as first Air Canada and ACV, then WestJet Group and then Transat announced they were pulling out of Cuba amid the island’s refuelling warning and heightened Cuba travel advice from the Canadian government.

“Hola Sun Holidays is temporarily suspending all flights to Cuba until April 30, 2026,” said the tour operator in a post on its site.

“We understand the importance of your travel plans and sincerely regret the inconvenience this situation may cause. This decision is due to circumstances beyond our control.”

Next steps for travel advisors and travellers …

Clients currently at destination

In collaboration with Air Transat, Caribe Sol will be arranging repatriation flights to Canada over the coming days. “If there are any changes to your scheduled return date, details will be communicated directly by our destination representatives,” says the tour operator.

Clients with existing reservations for future travel

All affected reservations will be automatically cancelled and refunded in full. Reservations will be cancelled based on departure date. Hola Sun advises that it may take up to 21 days for refunds to be processed.
