TORONTO — Unique Vacations Canada’s short n’ sweet sessions, ‘Sandals and Beaches Resorts … in 10 Minutes’, have a good long track record. The series is now clocking in at 5 years and going strong.
The live training sessions were launched during the pandemic, and were developed exclusively for the Canadian market. The upcoming Winter edition will feature “some very special guests” with sessions happening all through the month of February, says Maureen Barnes-Smith, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Canada for Unique Vacations Canada.
As Barnes-Smith tells Travelweek: “We launched this Canadian-exclusive series back in 2021 and advisors really responded to it. We know that ‘time is money’ and appreciate how busy travel advisors are so we want to provide them with concise top-line info about a featured resort.”
Following the popular format, agents are invited to take a mid-week coffee or tea break and join Lorna Richards, National Training Manager, Unique Vacations Canada every Wednesday as she shares details on featured Sandals and Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and beyond. Each session promises up-to-the-minute updates, valuable key selling features and insider insights.
The first session takes place this Wednesday. Here’s a look at the schedule …
- Wednesday Feb. 4 – 1 p.m. EST
- Wednesday Feb. 11 – 1 p.m. EST
- Wednesday Feb. 18 – 1 p.m. EST
- Wednesday Feb. 25 – 1 p.m. EST
A surprising amount of info can get backed into 10 minutes. Says Barnes-Smith: “‘Sandals & Beaches Resorts…10 Minutes’ has a clear focus – short and succinct sessions – which has proven to be quite successful. Having said that, these live ‘bite size’ sessions are designed to work in tandem with our full suite of training vehicles (both in person and virtual) including our comprehensive ‘Masterclass’ series, which takes a much deeper dive into all things Sandals and Beaches Resorts, sales and marketing tips and more.”
Asked about Jamaica specifically, she told Travelweek: “Our forward bookings are looking good for Jamaica.
