WestJet wins 2026 APEX Four Star Major Airline award

CALGARY — WestJet has been honoured with the 2026 Four Star Major Airline award from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX).

The award is based entirely on neutral, third-party passenger feedback collected through APEX’s partnership with TripIt from Concur, one of the most widely used travel-organizing apps globally. More than one million verified passenger itineraries were rated on a five-star scale across 600 airlines worldwide, with results independently certified by an external auditing company.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the passion, dedication and excellence our frontline teams brought to life this year,” says Alex Mitchell, Vice President, Guest Experience, WestJet. “It’s a huge win for our entire WestJet team and I couldn’t be prouder.”

In addition to receiving the award, WestJet presented its signature uniform during the PCIAW Fashion Show at the APEX Global Expo in Long Beach, California. The airline highlighted the role of uniforms in reinforcing trust and recognition within the travel experience.

“Guest experience is built on global partnerships, and one of the most recognizable parts of that experience comes from WestJet’s uniformed employees,” says Elise Featherstone, Manager, Uniforms. “The uniform represents more than just attire – it’s a symbol of safety, comfort and trust for every person who travels with us.”
