Solo travellers save big with Scenic and Emerald Cruises promotion

VANCOUVER — Scenic and Emerald Cruises are sweetening the deal for solo travellers with steep savings on single supplement fees on dozens of river and ocean yacht sailings.

Scenic is offering single supplements as low as 125% of the regular cruise fare on dozens of 2023 luxury river departures in Europe, as well as luxury ocean yacht sailings onboard Scenic Eclipse and Emerald Cruises that span the world.

Emerald Cruises, meanwhile, is going so far as to offer Zero Single Supplements on select European river cruises for 2023.

Booking deadlines are based on space availability and payment in full is required 12 months or more before departure, or within 72 hours when within 12 months. Fares are not combinable with other savings offers except future travel credits.

Example sailings for Emerald Cruises include the eight-day Grenadines & Granada Adventure, sailing roundtrip out of Bridgetown, Barbados on the 100-guest Emerald Azzurra. Guests will sail to ports that bigger cruise ships can’t access, like Chatham Bay on Union Island and Hillsborough on the rural island of Carriacou. Solo traveller fares start at $7,794, with one departure each in November and December 2023.

On the rivers, Emerald Cruises’ eight-day Danube Delights is one of its most popular, sailing between Munich and Budapest. Season-long departures have single supplement fares starting at $5,219.

Among the many Scenic itineraries available with the single supplement savings offer is the eight-day Gems of the Danube river cruise. Sailing between Budapest and Nuremburg, the all-inclusive fare includes a choice of daily excursions, from sampling beer at one of the oldest monastic breweries in the world, to visiting the birthplace of Mozart and enjoying a guided e-bike ride between Melk and Dürnstein. Special single supplemental fares start at $7,019.

In the Caribbean, Scenic has the nine-day Turks & Caicos Islands to Jamaica sailing, departing Nassau  on Oct. 23, 2023. Highlights include glass-bottom kayaking in the mangroves and caves of Providenciales, visiting the site of 80,000 West Indian flamingos on Little Inagua Island, and ambling down Port Antonio’s Great River on a bamboo raft. Fares for single travellers start at $14,276.
