AmaWaterways to launch second ship in Egypt

TORONTO — AmaWaterways will soon have double the presence in Egypt with the launch of its second ship in the country.

Following the successful close of AmaDahlia’s first season on Egypt’s legendary Nile River last week, the river cruise line announced that a second ship, AmaLilia – named after the sacred blue water lily flower of ancient Egypt – will set sail in 2024 to meet growing demand for the region.

Like AmaDahlia, AmaLilia will sail the ‘Secrets of Egypt & Nile’ itinerary, offering an 11-night cruise and land experience that includes a seven-night roundtrip river cruise from Luxor, paired with three nights pre- and one-night post-cruise stays in Cairo. Similar to its sister ship, AmaLilia will be designed with regionally-inspired décor and offer spacious staterooms and suites and a specialty restaurant all included in the river cruise fare.

“It is incredibly exciting to be able to expand our river cruise offerings on the legendary Nile River with AmaLilia, which will be another stunning, intimate ship,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and we’ve seen such wonderful interest from both our loyal guests as well as new guests since we launched our first ship there in September 2021. We look forward to welcoming even more travellers to join us to experience the ancient wonders of Egypt.”

Additional details regarding AmaDahlia will be announced soon.
