Yoga & meditation make for a memorable Visit California event

TORONTO — There’s no shortage of travel industry events in September and every one offers something a little different. At yesterday’s Visit California breakfast, attendees were treated to a morning of relaxing yoga and meditation, all with an eye to promoting the Golden State’s expansive wellness product offering as well as new hotels, new attractions and new opportunities for agents selling California.

Held at The Argonaut Rowing Club in Toronto, the event was hosted by Visit California and many of its reps from travel suppliers across the state. Attendees were greeted by sunshine and beautiful views of Lake Ontario, and there was a yellow theme throughout the rooms, from bundled lemons in the shape of California state, to yellow yoga mats, to lemon water to start the morning.

The wellness-themed event made for a great start to the day and included healthy breakfast options such as homemade granola yogurt parfaits and zucchini muffins with chocolate, to satisfy sweets cravings.

Following the wellness and meditation session there were product updates from the team’s 10 representatives.

Curious about forest bathing? Visit Pasadena to experience this unique escape from city life, also known as nature therapy.

For fitness enthusiasts looking for the newest workout trends, West Hollywood is the place to go.

For clients with kids – who still want to take advantage of California’s wellness vibe – there’s more to the state than just Disneyland, however popular the theme park may be. Monterey Bay Aquarium will delight fans of Finding Dory. That’s because the fictional ‘Marine Life Institute’, the main setting in the Finding Dory movie, is based on real facilities at Monterey Bay Aquarium.

And clients looking for a mix of healthy and fun experiences in one region might want to check out San Luis Obispo County to forage for health elixirs and enjoy 250+ wineries just in Paso Robles.
