WOW prices its new India flights from $299 one-way

TORONTO — WOW air is launching new service to India out of Toronto and Montreal via Reykjavik.

Reservations are available as of today, May 15, for flights starting Dec. 6. One-way fares start at $299, with WOW premium from $899.

“We are very excited to count New Delhi among our list of growing destinations outside of Europe,” says WOW air CEO and founder Skúli Mogensen.

As with all WOW flights the trip will include a stopover in Reykjavik. “Not only will the new route let Canadians explore India at a never-before-seen affordable price, they will still get to indulge in a stopover in Reykjavik and all the geothermal pools and black sand beaches that come with it, and, experiences two opposite ends of the spectrum in one trip.”

In 2017 WOW air said it had carried close to 180,000 passengers on 964 flights between Canada and Europe. The upstart ultra low-cost carrier began service from Montreal and Toronto in 2016.

In its first year flying out of this market WOW air expanded to more than 30 destinations.

WOW is one of several LCCs and ULCCs flying transatlantic routes out of Canada. The latest would-be entrant, Norwegian Air, announced last month that it was delaying its launch out of Canada until at least spring 2019.
