With dollar down, Sunquest to raise prices next week, advises clients to book nowTORONTO — With the Canadian dollar at its lowest level in several years, Sunquest is advising travellers and travel agents that it plans to increase the prices of its package vacations.

The price changes will take effect after the Jan. 11, 2014 weekend allowing anyone who is thinking about booking a vacation, a few days in which they can do so at the current, lower price.

“Tour operators generally pay for the cost of hotel accommodations in U.S. dollars. The Canadian dollar’s value has deteriorated to such an extent that we must raise our prices,” the company said in a statement.

“However, by giving some notice on these plans, we are also giving customers the opportunity to book today and save.”
