WestJet’s traffic up 6.8% in October

WestJet’s October 2014 traffic results showed a load factor of 77.4%, down 1.8 points from the previous year. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 6.8% year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 9.2% over the same period. The airline flew a record 1.6 million guests in October, a year-over-year increase of 6.0% or approximately 90,000 additional guests, and achieved an on-time performance rate of 87.4% in the month, an improvement of 4.3 percentage points.
