WestJet extends grace period for new fees

CALGARY — After introducing a fourth fare bundle and amending its change and cancellation fees last month, WestJet has announced that it is offering an extended grace period to allow travel partners to adjust to the new fees.

The updates, which were announced on May 11, were made to provide clients with more flexible options and “ensure they get exactly what they need from their travel experience,” said the airline.

But recognizing how some fees may be missed as a result of these updates, the airline has agreed to extend the grace period until June 30, 2017.

Until this new deadline, if the incorrect fee is charged for changes or cancellations made within 24 hours of booking, agents are asked to contact WestJet’s Travel Support Team at 1-877-664-3205.
