VISIT FLORIDA spotlights destinations ready to welcome back visitors

TORONTO — VISIT FLORIDA is inviting Canadian travellers back to the Sunshine State, as it resumes marketing efforts to promote tourism to areas open for business following Hurricane Ian.

Tourism is Florida’s number one industry, contributing billions of dollars annually to the state’s economy. VISIT FLORIDA plays a vital role in the state’s crisis response and recovery efforts, and is now communicating that Florida’s cities and regions including Clearwater, Miami, Orlando, Palm Beach, Pensacola and Tampa are eager to welcome travellers.

Says Dana Young, President and CEO, VISIT FLORIDA: “Tourism is Florida’s top economic driver and VISIT FLORIDA is committed to safeguarding our industry. Our marketing programs will help protect Florida’s tourism brand and demonstrate to visitors that Florida offers infinite vacation options. We appreciate Governor DeSantis’ leadership and support as we resume our campaign efforts and invite visitors from around the world to our great state.”

VISIT FLORIDA has launched a marketing campaign in the U.S. designed to support Florida’s tourism industry following Hurricane Ian. The campaign includes recent footage captured in 14 destinations throughout the state, assuring travellers that the ‘Sun’s Shining in Florida’ and that booking a trip now is as good a time as ever.

Post-storm marketing programs will be key for delivering this message throughout the Canadian market, as well, ensuring that Canadian consumers who are planning winter vacations to the Sunshine State stay well-informed.

These programs include a comprehensive digital winter campaign, co-op marketing with Canadian airline and tour operator partners, BranchUp social media marketing, educational webinars with Florida destination partners, travel agent FAMs and VISIT FLORIDA leadership meetings with Canadian partners in early 2023.
