Vision Travel acquires Edmonton’s Globetrotter Travel

EDMONTON — Vision Travel Solutions has acquired Globetrotter Travel, one of Edmonton’s landmark travel agencies, according to Michael Broadhurst, Vision’s executive vice-president.

Globetrotter was established in 1956, making it one of the city’s longest-enduring agencies with a strong reputation in group and luxury/premium travel services.

Owners Bill and Sue Pechtel will continue to serve their clients, many of whom have been with them for decades, along with the entire multilingual Globetrotter staff who will be working out of Vision’s location in St. Albert, AB.

“We are very excited to join Vision Travel – we see this as a great opportunity to continue to provide our clients with exceptional service and introduce them to the benefits of the Virtuoso travel network,” said Bill Pechtel.

Vision plans to continue to expand through the acquisition of existing blue-chip agencies whose owners wish to stay in the industry, while becoming part of a larger organization which will take on much of the administration.
