TORONTO — TruTravels’ first guests to depart on a trip in more than 500 days have safely returned from Croatia with sun-swept hair, happy smiles and plenty of travel tales to share.
The 11-day ‘Croatia Sail & Explore’ itinerary departed from Split with 25 guests boarding their own private yacht. They then sailed along the Croatian coast, docking in such hotspots as Dubrovnik and Hvar, spending the days swimming in coves, enjoying ‘floatilla’ boat parties, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Mljet National Park and Plitvice Lakes, and exploring local towns like Korcula and Hvar before ending the trip back in Split.
According to Mark Pope, co-founder of TruTravels, the success of the company’s inaugural tour will hopefully carry momentum into the late-summer season during which October 2021 departures are available at up to 30% off.
“At TruTravels, we love delivering awesome experiences to our travellers and seeing beautiful connections that are created on our trips,” said Pope. “Seeing our first group of travellers head back out in the world was so rewarding and gave a huge boost to all the TruTravels family.”
Pope added that feedback about the first tour has been “incredible,” and that it’s clear that as more young travellers are becoming double vaccinated, “they’re hungrier than ever to get back on the road, meet new people and explore new places.”
Croatia Sailing options include: the eight-day ‘Croatia Sailing Adventure,’ priced from $1,127 per person (usually $1,610pp), departing Oct. 16, 2021 and including Dubrovnik, Brac Island, Mljet National Park and Hvar; and the 11-day ‘Croatia Sail & Explore,’ priced from $2,430 per person, departing in summer 2022 and including island hopping along the Croatian coastline and Krka National Park.
