Treadright Foundation honored at the 2015 World Tourism Awards

LONDON — The 2015 World Tourism Award was presented to the TreadRight Foundation on the opening day of World Travel Market London at the ExCel Centre in London.

The award recognizes organizations for their commitment to conservation, sustainable tourism development, creating unique travel initiatives to people with special needs, and assisting local communities during challenging times.

TreadRight is the not-for-profit arm of  The Travel Corporation. The award was given in recognition of its mission to promote sustainable travel through conservation, leadership, and education. To date, TreadRight has supported more than 35 sustainable tourism projects worldwide.”

Brett Tollman, CEO of The Travel Corporation and Celine Cousteau, TreadRight Ambassador were on hand to accept the award.

Other award recipients were Tusk Trust and Wildscreen. Tusk Trust was recognized for its mission to initiate and fund wildlife conservation, community development and environmental education programs across Africa. Wildscreen organizes the world’s best photographers and filmmakers with conservationists, to create compelling stories about the natural world.
