Tourism Ireland names Dana Welsh Marketing Manager for Canada

Tourism Ireland has named Dana Welch as its new Marketing Manager for Canada. Welch has nine years experience in strategic marketing, most recently in her role as Senior Marketing Manager at Cineplex Entertainment, the largest motion picture exhibitor in Canada, where she was responsible for delivering premium brand and local marketing as well as sponsorship and media campaigns, including Cineplex’s National Community Day and Multicultural Marketing. Prior to her time at Cineplex, Welch managed National Client accounts for top-tier brands at TrojanOne. In her new role as Tourism Ireland’s Marketing Manager for Canada, Welch is responsible for leading Tourism Ireland’s marketing operations in Canada. Specifically, she will have responsibility for implementing Tourism Ireland’s new three-year ‘Strategy for Growth’ that aims to grow tourism from Canada to the island of Ireland by 47% between 2014 and 2016. Approximately, 125,000 Canadians visited the island of Ireland in 2013, and 2014 is currently on track to deliver a record year. Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “I am delighted to welcome Dana to the North American team, and looking forward to working with her and the Toronto colleagues to realize the full potential of the Canadian market, which remains an important market for Irish tourism.” For more information, visit ireland.com.
