G in 3: “The passion of our industry radiates all around,” says G Adventures’ MD, David Green

G in 3: New beginnings – and Morocco trip notes – with G Adventures’ MD, David Green

HAPPY NEW YEAR and WHAT a start to 2024 is all I can say.

I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing time with your friends and family, whether that was off seeing the world or spending time together at home this holiday season.

For me, it was a season of travel as my partner and I joined our National Geographic Journeys Morocco Journey itinerary. We were part of a small group of 12 travellers from four countries, and together we travelled through this stunning country over nine days.

This was my first time to Morocco, and it was so poignant to come here following the devastating earthquake this past September. We have a large team of colleagues in the office and on the ground in the country, so it was wonderful to be able to support tourism’s return.

I was able to meet other G Adventures groups as we travelled, which was especially nice to see over the holidays. We were blessed to visit a Planeterra community tourism project, which is always a personal highlight for me. We had three local experiences with local families and got to see first-hand how tourism is a main driver of an economy’s recovery. All these experiences allowed our group to share our different cultures and life experiences over a meal, and everyone came away feeling enriched from the experience.

I spent the New Year in Casablanca, which was an exciting way to ring it in! There’s definitely a feeling of rebirth and new beginnings in rebuilding, and I encourage your clients to visit this incredible country to support tourism even further.

I had a lot of agents message me as they followed my journey, and the most commonly asked question was “is it now safe to visit Morocco?” followed by “did you see any after effects of the earthquake?”. I’m pleased to say that it’s absolutely safe to travel in Morocco right now, and while there is no evident destruction along the journey I took, local people are hurting through the impact of fewer travellers. This is why I chose Morocco as my holiday destination. If you want to check out my personal journey, click here to check out a quick video with my trip highlights.

What was even more exciting was coming back to the raft of initiatives we have to help our travel agency community usher in a prosperous New Year following the booming return of travel in 2023.

The first is our incredible ‘You Belong With G Experience’ campaign, which is LIVE now. If you’re a Swiftie, you MUST join us on the epic adventure, as we reward 75 of our top sellers globally with tickets to see TayTay in concert in Toronto – with 10 being from Canada! For more info, please head on over to our ‘Agents of Change Facebook’ group at this link.

As if that campaign wasn’t exciting enough, we also have our annual G-Normous incentive live now too, with agents able to enter into both! Running for four months up until April 30, G-Normous is back and bigger than before, with up to $75,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs, including an $11,000 grand prize to celebrate the 11th year of G-Normous.

G-Normous also kicks off with the Great Adventure Sale, offering up to 25% savings on hundreds of trips when booked by Jan. 31, 2024 for travel up to Dec. 15, 2024. Full details can be found here.

So just one week in we have plenty of reasons to celebrate. Travel is back, and we are here to support you in the busiest months of the year. In return, we appreciate your support more than ever before.

All the very best for a happy and healthy 2024.
