G in 3: “Meaningful connections lead to changing more people’s lives through travel”

I experience the power of human connection whenever, and wherever, I travel. There’s nothing like forming a meaningful bond with another person.

Are you the type of person that gets on your flight and who puts their headphones on, or are you the type of person who engages with the person sitting next to you? I love making new connections, listening to people’s travel plans, sharing stories and looking for opportunities to connect.

Finding those opportunities is the salesperson in me, but I also think it’s me personally craving meaningful connections.

A massive shout out to the G sales team who go over and above every single day to create meaningful connections with our travel agent community. It’s a demanding job, and their travel schedules are intense, but they do it for the love of G and our commitment to our agency partners. We would not be as proud to be G as we are without them!

I adore my team, and they make me better every day through the shared love we have for travel, and supporting one another and our agent community.

If you are looking for a bit of G love then please join our new ‘In the Loop’ virtual series that has been a total hit – a combination of learning and winning for our agency partners. It means that when we can’t see people in person (Canada is a BIG country) we can continue to nurture these relationships in between in-person visits. If you are an agent looking for inspiration, and the chance of winning some great prizes, reach out to your GPS for more details!

I also encourage you all to also embrace the new hybrid way of working. You can build meaningful connections no matter how geographically distanced you are, and cement them when you have the opportunity to do so in person, and not just for the purpose of business.

Many of my travel industry ‘contacts’ have become dear and valued friends. Social media is also a great way to stay connected, whether it’s liking a post, commenting on a post or reconnecting with a friend you’ve not spoken to in a while. For me, it’s a key way to stay connected with my friends and family.

Anyone who has travelled with us will tell you that one of the most exciting things about going on a G Adventures trip is the people that you meet. We connect people from all around the world. We don’t just learn about the local cultures in the destinations that we travel to – we learn from the new friends that we travel with. If you or your clients are craving the type of meaningful connections that I do, then I encourage you to recommend small group travel – especially for solo travellers.

What is a meaningful connection, exactly? It’s a coming together of people who are aligned in terms of their vision and values, who energetically connect, and have the same goals.

In the world of G Adventures, these meaningful connections lead to changing more people’s lives through travel. What do you hope your connections will lead to for you, both personally and professionally?

Until next time.

Peace,

DG
