G Adventures launches its first-ever Dominica tours

TORONTO — G Adventures is expanding its Caribbean portfolio with the launch of its first-ever tours to Dominica, becoming the first global adventure operator to introduce trips of this kind on the island.

The new itineraries aim to showcase a different side of Dominica beyond traditional beach and cruise tourism, highlighting the destination’s rainforests, waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, hiking trails and marine biodiversity. The tours join G Adventures’ premium active Geluxe travel style, which focuses on physical activity, upgraded accommodations, elevated dining and deeper cultural connections.

“G Adventures has always sought to help travellers see destinations in a new way,” said Yves Marceau, VP of Product at G Adventures. “We’re incredibly excited to expand our Caribbean offering with Dominica and to shine a light on its incredible natural and cultural richness. By moving beyond the traditional cruise narrative, we’re helping travellers experience the island more deeply while ensuring tourism revenue reaches local and Indigenous communities.”

The company has introduced two new itineraries, both designed to immerse travellers in the island’s natural and cultural experiences.

The first, “Dominica:  Waterfalls, volcanic Peaks & Kalinago Culture,” is an eight-day land-focused adventure based in Roseau. Highlights include visits to Trafalgar Falls and Middleham Falls, hiking experiences, swims in natural pools and explorations of the Indian River and Cabrits National Park.

Travellers will also visit Champagne Beach, known for its underwater volcanic bubbles and snorkelling opportunities, and participate in cultural experiences with the Kalinago people on Dominica’s east coast. Activities include cassava bread-making, visits to local farms and hikes along sections of the Waitukubuli National Trail.

The itinerary also features a signature Geluxe “OMG Day,” where travellers can choose between swimming through Titou Gorge and soaking in natural hot springs, or visiting Spanny and Jacko Falls with optional evening whale watching.

The second itinerary, “Dominica: Whales, Waterfalls & the Wild Caribbean,” is geared toward marine life and wildlife enthusiasts. The tour includes five days focused on responsible whale encounters, giving travellers the opportunity to swim with sperm whales in their natural habitat – one of the few places in the world where this is possible. Guests will also get the chance to snorkel at Champagne Beach with local guides. All wildlife encounters adhere to the company’s Animal Welfare Policies.

Dominica is home to a year-round resident population of sperm whales and recently established what is believed to be the world’s first marine-protected area dedicated to the species. The 800-square-kilometre reserve was created to support conservation and sustainable tourism initiatives.
