CIE Tours launches new walking & hiking tours in Ireland

MORRISTOWN, NJ — CIE Tours is offering Canadian travellers a new way to experience the Emerald Isle, with the debut of two small-group Walking & Hiking tours for 2026.

Designed for active travellers, the two new itineraries mark the company’s first foray into walking and hiking-focused travel, combining scenic outdoor exploration with immersive cultural experiences across Ireland’s and southern landscapes.

“These new itineraries strike a perfect balance between active exploration and sightseeing,” said Stephen Cotter, managing director of CIE Tours. “This launch marks an exciting evolution of our brand by offering travellers a new way to experience Ireland through the active lens of walking and hiking. With more than 90 years of Irish travel expertise, we’ve crafted each tour to showcase not only the country’s iconic landmarks, but also its hidden gems, scenic trails, and local culture. Whether it’s a guest’s first trip with us or their fifth, this is a fresh way to see Ireland.”

The new tours run from May through September and are capped at 16 guests per departure. Each day features two to six miles of walking at a comfortable pace on mostly gentle terrain, making them ideal for travellers seeking a relaxed yet rewarding adventure.

To encourage early planning, CIE Tours is offering savings of up to $1,200 per couple (or $600 per person) on all 2026 departures. The promotion applies to all destinations and itineraries – including the new Walking & Hiking tours – as well as private driver options. The offer is valid on new bookings made between June 2 and July 31, 2025, for travel between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2026.

Other highlights include visits to Devenish Island’s monastic ruins, Glenveagh Castle, and traditional Irish life in Glencolmcille. Priced from $5,495 per person (regularly from $6,095), available for a limited time through July 31.
  • Ireland Walking & Hiking: Cork to Kerry (9 days): Travellers will hike through southern Ireland’s wild landscapes, including Glengarriff and the Beara Peninsula.
