Demands ramping up for retroactive commission protection in wake of Sunwing’s SK cancellations

Brightline increases commissionable fares for limited time

MIAMI — Brightline is doubling its commission rate for travel advisors for a limited time.

The eco-friendly, intercity rail provider in Florida, which launched a new Travel Professional Program earlier this month, is increasing its commissionable rate from 10% to 20% on all ticket reservations made now through Feb. 29, 2024, for travel through June 30, 2024.

Qualified advisors in Canada and the U.S. can book clients’ travel on Brightline between Orlando and South Florida (Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach) with access to the lowest published fares, and earn commissions of up to 20% for both ‘PREMIUM and ‘SMART services during the limited-time offer.

Brightline’s Travel Professional Program supports the popular ‘From Station to Vacation’ cruise offer, which connects cruisers to Florida’s top cruise ports. When reserving a PREMIUM ticket, a complimentary Brightline+ ride is included, meaning guests get picked up from their home or hotel, and to the cruise port all in one ticket. The PREMIUM ticket also includes access to exclusive station lounges, priority boarding, extra space, as well as complimentary drinks and snacks along the way.

To further assist travel advisors, Brightline is also growing its sales team by adding Ralph Ebra as senior manager of distribution, dedicated to partnerships with travel advisors.

Last month, Brightline increased its service to meet the demands of its recent Orlando expansion, offering 15 departures in each direction between Orlando and South Florida. It launched in South Florida in 2018 and expanded to Orlando in 2022.
