The Intrepid Foundation makes $50,000 donation to help victims of Ukraine crisis

TORONTO — Intrepid is showing its support for those impacted by the crisis in Ukraine by donating $50,000 through its not-for-profit organization.

The Intrepid Foundation has provided an upfront $50,000 donation to the Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, which will go towards providing emergency relief for communities affected by the war in Ukraine.

Russia launched a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, forcing at least 1,000,000 people to flee their homes. According to the Foundation, many people who remain in Ukraine do not have access to water or electricity and are seeking emergency shelter.

Red Cross teams are stationed on the ground in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to provide first aid, supply medicine and equipment, food, water, shelter and essential items, as well as repair vital infrastructure.

All of Intrepid’s administrative costs are covered by Intrepid to ensure 100% of donations go directly to the Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Individuals, as well as travel and tourism companies that are in a position to donate, are urged to do so.

The Appeal is accepting donations now. For details click here.

Intrepid has cancelled all trips in Ukraine and Russia for the foreseeable future as the company focuses on supporting people on the ground.
