TDC’s agent@home team expands with new appointments

MONTREAL — Transat Distribution Canada (TDC) has expanded its management team for its agent@home program.

Carol Thorne, a 30-year veteran of TDC, has been appointed Regional Manager for the Ontario, Western and Maritime regions.

In addition, Caroline Legendre has recently joined the TDC team as Regional Manager and will be responsible for Quebec.

“As regional managers, their role is to support the agent@home travel professionals in their respective region, to answer their questions, provide training, direct them to the right resources within the team. In the ever-changing world of travel, this supporting role for travel professionals is truly valuable,” said Karine Gagnon, General Manager of TDC.

Gagnon also announced the promotion of Chantal Lalonde to Business Development Manager for Quebec. Lalonde, “who was instrumental in the creation and development of TDC’s agent@home program,” said Gagnon, will work alongside Katrine Rourke, BDM for Ontario, Western Canada and Atlantic.

“One of the strengths of the TDC network is the support it provides to its network, which takes many forms, including generous commissions that are among the highest in the industry, one of the most comprehensive online professional training programs in the industry, TDC Campus, which is offered free of charge, and much more. At TDC, support comes first and foremost from a dedicated, full-time team of experienced senior managers and operational support,” said Gagnon.

She added: “Our strength at TDC is that we can offer travel professionals all types of models, whether they wish to be full-time employees, franchise owners or independent contractors, and all this within a Canadian owned and fully bilingual organization. This puts us in a strong position by allowing all travel professionals in our network to evolve according to their needs and to market conditions, while still enjoying the benefits of being part of the leading network in Canada. In the end, all members profit from the learnings and programs developed in any one of our business sectors.”

Independent contractors who wish to join the agent@home program can choose to operate under the Transat travel brand or their own personal brand. For more details go to https://transatagentathome.com/.
