Tauck promotes longtime company exec Jeremy Palmer to COO

WILTON, CT — Tauck CEO Dan Mahar has announced that longtime company executive Jeremy Palmer has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Since 2007, Palmer has served Tauck in a variety of operational and planning roles, most recently as a Senior Vice President overseeing the company’s Worldwide Operations, Brand Management and Tauck Director Management departments, as well as Tauck’s strategic planning and new business initiatives.

Palmer has also been a member of the company’s Executive Team since 2015.

“Jeremy has excelled in every responsibility he has taken on at Tauck, and has been a great partner to me, Jennifer (Tauck President Jennifer Tombaugh), and other members of our senior leadership team for well over a decade,” said Mahar.

Mahar added that Palmer’s accomplishments at Tauck include helping the company achieve its highest guest satisfaction scores and guest retention rates in the company’s history. Palmer also served a key role in accelerating Tauck’s go-to-market efforts that allow earlier bookings to better serve its guests and travel advisor partners.

He was also instrumental in the development of Tauck’s popular small-group land tour departures, the addition of shore excursion choices to the company’s European river cruises and the expansion of small ship ocean cruising.

Under Palmer’s guidance of Tauck’s marketing team, the company has also improved the consistency and voice of its brand message, and expanded its digital content platforms leading to deeper customer engagement, and in turn, stronger retention and conversion rates.

Mahar also had high praise for Palmer’s leadership role in helping Tauck successfully restart its global operations this year, after an extended pause due to COVID-19.

“In these last 18 months when our company has been extremely challenged, Jeremy’s thoughtful, steady voice has provided crucial leadership for Tauck as we’ve successfully retained our customer base, restarted our global operations and rebuilt our business with record-level preseason bookings for 2022,” said Mahar.

“I’m humbled by and grateful for this opportunity and thankful for the continued trust placed in me,” said Palmer. “More than anything, I’m excited for our future. We’re already well along on our recovery and I’m looking forward to helping Tauck emerge as a stronger, smarter company – one that’s even better at serving our guests and travel advisor partners while fulfilling our essential purpose of delivering life-changing travel experiences.”
