Swoop announces summer 2020 schedule, launches Winnipeg-Phoenix this weekend

CALGARY — Swoop has released its 2020 summer schedule featuring increased service and three new destinations.

Starting in April 2020, the airline’s newest routes will include Victoria, Kamloops and San Diego. Plus, it’s also increasing its weekly frequency on routes that include Hamilton-Winnipeg, Edmonton-Abbotsford, and Abbotsford-Winnipeg.

According to President Steven Greenway, the new routes and added frequency reflects Swoop’s recent growth trajectory.

The 2020 summer schedule includes the following:

• Edmonton-Kamloops (up to 4x/weekly)
• Winnipeg-London (up to 4x/weekly)
• Winnipeg-Victoria (up to 5x/weekly)
• Edmonton-San Diego (up to 3x/weekly)
• Edmonton-Abbotsford (from 16x/weekly to 24x/weekly)
• Hamilton-Winnipeg (from 6x/weekly to 10x/weekly)
• Abbotsford-Winnipeg (from 4x/weekly to daily)

Since its June 2018 launch, Swoop’s summer network has grown to serve 14 domestic, 10 transborder and four international markets. The new schedule is set to increase Swoop’s frequency to 328 ultra-low-fare weekly flights.

For this winter season, the airline will celebrate its inaugural flight to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) from Winnipeg on Dec. 15. Available now to book, 2x/weekly flights will run from Dec. 15-April 23, 2020.

This marks Swoop’s first service to Arizona via Winnipeg, from where it currently serves 13 North American destinations both year-round and seasonally, including the two new routes to London and Victoria starting in April 2020.
