Sunwing now offers Gansevoort Dominican Republic exclusively

TORONTO — Sunwing is now offering Gansevoort Dominican Republic exclusively for this coming winter season.

Officially opened just last winter, the modern boutique hotel has already earned a number of accolades. Named one of the best places to travel in 2015 by Travel + Leisure it was also singled out by Condé Nast Traveler as its favourite new beach escape this year.

Situated in Sosua, on the Dominican Republic’s less-travelled northern shore, the hotel enjoys an enviable location on its own private beach surrounded by lush tropical foliage. Guests can relax poolside on double-sized private cabana beds, or explore the warm waters and the many watersports available including hobie cats, kayaking, snorkelling and paddle boarding.

The area is also a scuba divers and fishing paradise.

Comprising 48 suites, accommodation options include stylish one and two bedroom lofts with walk in showers, separate tub and private terrace; three bedroom apartments with their own plunge pools and opulent four bedroom penthouses complete with rooftop Jacuzzis. Dining options across the two on site restaurants range from international and Italian classics at Baia Lounge & Restaurant to contemporary Japanese dishes at Nikkei Cuisine.

The hotel’s spa offers a range of beauty and wellness treatments including facials, couples’ massage and Jacuzzi.

Sunwing will offer vacation packages to the hotel from five different gateways this coming winter: Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Halifax. Sunwing includes a free 23kg checked baggage allowance on all flights to the Dominican Republic.

A week at Gansevoort is available from $2,695 plus $445 taxes per person, based on two people sharing a Resortview Suite and departing from Toronto on Jan. 5, 10 or 12, 2016. All packages to Gansevoort Dominican Republic feature daily complimentary breakfast.
