NEW YORK — Brad Pitt is the latest Hollywood actor to try his hand at the hotelier business, with numerous reports indicating Pitt is planning to open a new resort in Zablace, Croatia.
Conde Nast Traveler says the US$1.5 billion luxury resort will be “massive”, offering hotel and villa accommodation along with dining and retail venues plus a golf course.
The new-build, dubbed by People magazine as “a modern ecologically-responsible planned community”, comes with a few sweeteners. Pitt, known for his charity work, is also said to be funding new schools and a clinic for the 2,500 residents of the small coastal town.
The architect working with Pitt on the resort project says the actor called Croatia “the most beautiful country he has ever visited.”
