Productions such as Star Wars are considered a gift to many destinations, as seen in past cases with popular franchises and films like ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, James Bond and Disney’s ‘Frozen’, to name a few.

According to several news outlets and the Internet movie database site IMDB.com, locations in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ include the Skellig Rocks in Ireland; Scotland; Myvatn and the Krafla volcano in Iceland; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Greenham Common in Berkshire, England; and New Mexico, U.S.

While Disney has not officially confirmed exact locations in the movie, destination marketing companies will be sure to jump on promotional opportunities.
