Sears Travel’s rebrand to The Travel Experts now effective Oct. 21

MISSISSAUGA — All physical Sears Travel locations will be vacated as of Oct. 20 and Red Label Vacations Inc. will rebrand Sears Travel as The Travel Experts effective Oct. 21, according to a new statement from TravelBrands.

Sears Canada Inc. issued a statement Oct. 10 saying it was permanently closing its doors and going out of business. The company had filed for bankruptcy protection in June, hoping to find a buyer for its remaining locations.

Sears Travel is a TravelBrands business and not part of the Sears Canada Inc. CCAA proceedings. TravelBrands had a license from Sears Canada Inc., to use the name Sears Travel in carrying on TravelBrands’ retail travel business.

All bookings made under the brand Sears Travel remain safe, secure and protected and will not be affected by this announcement, says TravelBrands.

The newly formed brand The Travel Experts will assume full responsibilities of servicing past, current and future clients. This structural rebranding reflects the goals of providing Canadian travellers with exceptional service in a one-on-one atmosphere, notes TravelBrands: “TravelBrands would like to thank its clients, partners and suppliers for their support of Sears Travel and look forward to continuing on as The Travel Experts under the Red Label Vacations group of companies.”
