Riviera River Cruises unveils new 2023 itinerary on France’s rivers

FORT LAUDERDALE — Riviera River Cruises is ramping up its France lineup in 2023 with a brand new itinerary on the Saône and Rhône Rivers.

Called the ‘Lyon, Provençal Rhône & the Camargue River Cruise,’ the 11-day itinerary runs from April through October and includes 10 nights of cruise accommodations, all onboard meals and 14 guided tours and visits. Guests will experience the villages of Burgundy, sample local delicacies in Lyon, marvel over the sheer limestone cliffs of the Ardèche Gorges, explore Arles’ Roman remains and much more. Prices start at US$3,729 per person, double occupancy.

From Lyon, the itinerary will cruise north on the Saône to Chalon, the gateway to Burgundy before returning to Lyon. Along the way, guests will enjoy guided tours of Cluny Abbey, visit Beaune, Burgundy’s wine capital, and stroll along the car-free cobbled streets of old town Uzès. Other highlights include Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a bustling seaside town; Orange, an historic trading post; the Pont du Gard, the Camargue wetland and the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau; wine tastings in Mâcone and Chateauneuf-du-Pape; and a visit to an olive farm at Les Baux-de-Provence.

“We’re thrilled to offer this new cruise on the Saône and Rhône Rivers starting next year,” said Marilyn Conroy, Riviera River Cruises’ Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing North America. “The roundtrip from Lyon offers convenience and at 11 days there’s plenty of time to explore the region, from the heart of Burgundy to the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.”

Conroy also noted that Riviera River Cruises is the only European river cruise line that does not accept bookings directly from consumers, instead working exclusively with travel advisors and their clients.

“When a consumer comes to us, we refer their business back to you,” she added.
