LONDON — This Friday will see the grand opening of Riu Plaza London Victoria, RIU Hotels & Resorts first establishment in the United Kingdom.

Making its debut on July 28, the new four-star, 435-room hotel is centrally located at 1 Neathouse Place in London’s Westminster area, known for being the home of Britain’s political institutions and other emblematic sites like Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. Situated just metres from Victoria Station and 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring London, the most visited city in Europe.

Featuring a contemporary minimalist design, the Riu Plaza London is divided into two parts: the podium and the tower. One of the most eye-catching features of the podium is the circular glass tower that houses the reception area, which is also known as the ‘drum.’ When guests arrive, they’ll find themselves in a lobby with a conical dome flooded by natural light from above, with a spectacular sculpture of organic shapes hanging overhead.

Hotel rooms are modern and comfortable, decorated with contemporary wallpaper and watercolour paintings. Many of the modern superior suites and rooms overlook the city centre, but the most spacious rooms are located on floor -1, a common feature in UK hotels to maximize space.

Special focus on privacy has been taken, particularly in communal areas. The furniture was chosen to create small private areas all within the same space. For a livelier atmosphere, guests can head to the lobby bar for delicious cocktails.
