HONOLULU — Hilton Garden Inn has opened its second property in Hawaii and the brand’s first property in the Waikiki area of Honolulu, its largest property of all time, Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach.
The newly redeveloped Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach recently underwent an extensive US$115 million redevelopment and now features a lively living-room style lobby with communal seating and classic Hawaiian design.
“Opening our second Hilton Garden Inn branded hotel in Hawaii, the first in the capital of Hawaii, is a major feat for the brand, which is expanding at a rapid pace,” said John Greenleaf, Global Head, Hilton Garden Inn. The company has 11 Hilton Worldwide hotels open or in various stages of development in Hawaii, he added.
The hotel is located two blocks from Waikiki Beach, across the street from the revitalized International Market Place and 25 minutes from Honolulu International Airport.
Guests can walk to shopping and dining along Kalakaua Avenue, the Honolulu Zoo and the Ala Wai Golf Course. The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head State Monument, Polynesian Cultural Center and Waimea Falls are also popular attractions.
Adventure activities include surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, diving, biking and fishing.
“From the modern guest rooms to the grand, light and airy lobby space, the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach has been completely re-envisioned,” said John Taffin, General Manager.
“We’re proud to present this upscale hotel brand in true friendly Waikiki style to our guests planning leisure vacations, as well as business meetings and conferences on the island of Oahu.”
All 623 guest rooms, including one- and two-bedroom suites, boast the brand’s signature bedding that features fresh, white duvets and crisp linens, a 48” HDTV with premium channels, and an in-room ‘hospitality centre’ with a microwave, mini-refrigerator and Keurig coffee/tea maker.
Most rooms will include a walk-out lanai, and all suites and most rooms have partial ocean or city views. Adjoining rooms are available.
The new hotel offers spacious public areas, a newly designed rooftop pool area with poolside bar, and separate cardio and strength training fitness centres. There’s also a meeting room with naturally lit meeting space for up to 30 people.
